Cloetta presents royal wedding chocolate

Cloetta is one of the Swedish companies approved by the Royal Court of Sweden to develop products for “The Official Wedding Series” to commemorate the wedding of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria and Mr. Daniel Westling on 19 June 2010 at Storkyrkan in Stockholm. Cloetta, the largest Swedish confectionery company, is therefore presenting six new chocolate products that include both boxes of exclusive filled chocolates and chocolate bars.

The Official Wedding Series was unveiled at the Formex trade fair in Stockholm. An additional 16 Swedish companies are among the suppliers approved by the Royal Court.

Part of the net proceeds from the sale of Cloetta’s six confectionery products in the Wedding Series will go to the Crown Princess Couple’s Wedding Foundation. The exact amount is shown on each product package. The objective of the foundation is to combat exclusion and promote good health among children and young people in Sweden.

”Given the combination of romantic and festive, together with the foundation’s mission to combat exclusion among young people, the choice to develop these products was very easy for us at Cloetta. This is a cause we are more than happy to be associated with. Behind The Official Wedding Series there is a real ambition to do good, and we hope that our products can contribute to this in two senses,” says Cloetta’s CEO Curt Petri.

Cloetta’s contribution to The Official Wedding Series includes premium quality chocolate products for all tastes:
• Three filled chocolate boxes in different sizes
• One box containing bite-sized chocolates – 9 with milk chocolate and lingonberries and 9 with semi-sweet chocolate and blueberries
• Two Tarragona chocolate bars – one with whole hazelnuts and one with chopped almonds

All products in the series bear The Official Wedding Series seal and are decorated with a pattern that comes originally from Drottningholm Palace.

“The Wedding Series offers something for all chocolate lovers. We hope that the series will attract strong interest from Swedes of all ages and among the many tourists that visit Sweden during the royal wedding year,” says Cloetta’s Project Manager Tony Wiréhn.

The products will be available for sale in grocery stores and tourist shops starting mid-April.

Cloetta has a long tradition as Purveyor to the Royal Swedish Court since 1922.
